Love, Stillness and Divine Timing

Love, Stillness and Divine Timing

QUESTION FROM TONIGHT'S CONNECTION

What has love taught you about being still?

When I first reflected on this question, my thoughts immediately went to my two sons.

They’re the deepest expression of love I’ve experienced in my life. As a parent, I naturally want to help, guide, and sometimes speed things along because I can see what’s possible for them. But love has taught me that I can’t rush their growth. I can encourage them, support them, and believe in them, while also giving them the space to become who they’re meant to be. I have to TRUST the process.
As I sat with that thought, I realized something even deeper. The same TRUST that I have when it comes to my boys lives is something I must lean into when it comes to my own life.

Whether you call the Creator God, the Universe, Spirit, Source, Infinite Intelligence or the Divine, I’m beginning to understand that love sometimes asks us to be still.

There are moments when I want to make things happen. I want to force movement, create opportunities, and move life forward according to my own timeline. But I’m learning that stillness isn’t empty. It’s an invitation to TRUST that there are things being aligned, prepared, and brought together that I can’t create on my own.

Just as I trust my children’s journey, I’m learning to TRUST my own.

For me, being still has become an act of FAITH in a love that’s greater than my own plans. It’s a reminder that I don’t have to carry every outcome. Sometimes the most loving thing I can do is TRUST that what’s meant for me is already making its way to me.

Maybe that’s what love has been teaching me all along…Not just how to love others, but how deeply I’m loved in return.
